AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning).
Artificial Intelligence is defined as “computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence.” This now includes capabilities and sensors mimicking senses like visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages. AI can be extended when coupled with robotic movement and task completion. AI and ML are both here to stay, and continue to grow more powerful and influential. Consequently, billions are earned from this technology. Because “where there’s men, there’s sin,” AI is already exploited in sinful ways for wicked purposes. Machine Learning is learning what good and evil people have written, and have been given programming parameters, or access. ML is here to stay and there is nothing any of us can do about it. AI/ML is very dynamic, fast, and connected. Furthermore, with Cloud computing, numerous computing resources are clustered together for almost infinite computer speed, processing, and power, AI and ML has already surpassed any individual, and will soon surpass all people.
We truly live in the “Information Age.”
In 1946, ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer), was considered the “first all-purpose digital computer.” So, 1946 is considered by many as the beginning of the Information Age. As a result, every major company began creating their own computer system to maintain their records and communications. Many of the Fortune 500 began to transfer data across telephone lines to interconnect or network several systems. In 1983, the U.S. DoD’s ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) adopted TCP/IP to connect networks. In 1989, the Word Wide Web (www) was introduced. In 1993, CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research–1 of the world’s largest centers for scientific research) made the WWW publicly available. At this time, the internet consisted mostly of NERDs, research, government, and educational institutions. Also, it was still costly and difficult to access. Browsers and graphics helped catapult usage, as well as free online internet access across phone lines in the late 1990s and 2000s. Online commerce, advertising, and marketing really catapulted the internet. And, cable and high speed access, computers, laptops, Smart Phones, and free video and social media sites make using the internet a digital way of life. Now, the IoT (Internet of Things) is connecting almost every device to provide AI access to more data than ever before.
Biblical “End Times” Warning: Increased Knowledge & Deception (Possible Beast).
Daniel 2:4 tells us that at “the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” We are seeing that today. Most consider us to be in the “end times” now. People already use AI to cheat for answers, to write papers for them, to solve problems, to make money, to shortcut and short-sheet the discovery and self-research process to find “facts” (that are not always true). Because there is so much knowledge, many get deceived by information overload. In addition, many get deceived by cleverly written popular or politically correct (but often Biblically incorrect) data (that can already be found permeating our lives and the world-wide web). Matthew 24:24 tells us, “if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” “Let no man deceive you by any means…” (2Th. 2:3). Satan is the great deceiver, who deceives “the nations” and “deceives the whole world” (cf. Rev. 12:9; 20:2-3). Also, some maintain AI will be the “Beast” described in Revelation 13, who “deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image” (Rev. 19:20). For additional information on the 4 main views of this “beast,” see my Revelation Revealed book, chapter 21, pp. 126-128.
AI Availability & Ubiquity (& it’s Free).
AI is available to anyone, from any place, which has internet access and an internet device. Consequently, with Satellites, AI is everywhere, all the time. Also, with Smart Phones, AI is accessible to anyone. 90% of the world now have Smart Phones. It is expected that 98% will have them in three years. Just search “how to use AI for free online” and you will see numerous “free” AI tools for many purposes. AI cost millions, but is provided free to many, and sold to some. AI is becoming more value as it’s ML (machine learning) it getting smarter the more it is used and accessed. A quick search on AI features provides the following examples: Image Generation, Text Generation & Writing, Chatbots, Website Builders, Voice Generators, Curriculum Generation/Feedback, Internet Searching/Browsing/Q&A, etc.
Should Christians let AI build their messages?
Many pastors and teachers generate their messages using AI, citing they do not have time to prepare. First question, do you think that message is of the Spirit? And, still others generate their website content now (using AI). Next, should Christians let AI build their messages? 2Ti 4:3-4 says, “3-For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4-And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” Much of AI content is marketing driven now. This is similar to what the Apostle Paul warned Timothy. AI knows (by click algorithms, usage tracking, and other trends) what people want to hear, and AI gives it to them. And, this is very dangerous. 2Ti 3:1-2, 7 tells us “1-that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2-For men shall be loves of their own selves, covetous… 7-Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Finally, let’s be discerning, and not deceived by AI, or any other worldly devices.
How can we leverage AI for good?
So, as a Christian, how can we leverage AI for good? First, one can carefully use AI to assist their Bible Study, and possible their preaching or teaching preparation. So, how does one do this without compromise? Let’s start with internet searches. You can get back some sketchy results these days, and must be careful what you enter. Therefore, countless folks install protective software or apps to safeguard themself, sometimes from even themselves. This helps one “abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul” (1Pe. 2:11). Most are familiar with internet searches. However, many do not know that most of those are already AI generated or assisted.
What is ChatGPT?
Next, let’s look at ChatGPT. It is currently the most popular, and there’s a lot that can be done for free. About 128 million users access ChatGPT every day! And that is billions each month. What is ChatGPT? It is a generative AI chatbot (or simulator of human communication) developed by OpenAI in 2022. ChatGPT uses large language and other modules to create human-like responses in text, speech, and images. It is getting “smarter,” or more capable every day by everyone’s usage/feedback. Also, it provides almost an instant answer. Just click: https://chatgpt.com/ You can attach a file or type whatever you want. Furthermore, there are predefined things like “Summarize text,” “Help me write,” “Surprise me,” “Brainstorm,” and “More.” You can just enter a question and click enter. And, the more precise your questions, the more precise the answer. It often attempts to be more “open,” less definitive, and less offensive with its responses. In addition, it often questions the meaning of words, though it clearly knows what the words mean. For instance, if you enter, “Who is the most popular person in all human history?” It will give you multiple people/answers and equivocate, but ultimately concede that Jesus Christ is the most popular. If you ask, “which book is the most popular book ever written?” It will tell you the Bible. “What does Matthew 7:1, “Judge not, that ye be not judged,” mean?” Surprisingly, it provides a strong answer, some rationale, and a good summary.
Sign Up for Free at ChatGPT.
If you choose to sign up, ChatGPT has a free option. That is compelling if you are not sure if you want to use it, or want to learn how to use it. Be careful, it may be addicting. Many even find ChatGPT more compelling and enjoyable than communicating with their friends or family. A few pointers. It asks for your email, a password, your name, and birth date. Also, it acknowledges that it may be inaccurate and warns not to share sensitive info. Next, it remembers things about you to tailor its responses better. You can also describe yourself and it will remember (kept track of that). I asked it to “Create an image of the Rapture of the church where the dead in Christ and all living Christians are caught up in the air to meet Jesus in the clouds?” Took about 3 minutes and it was publishable quality. See the AI image generated on 6/14/2025 below.

Concluding AI/ML Thoughts.
In conclusion, it is helpful to ask AI specific “Observation” questions, as that is its strong point. AI does a good job when asked where something in the Bible is found, or what are some top conservative positions on something controversial. Please be discerning as AI can be wrong, or in AI’s words, “inaccurate.” Christians must be especially careful, as they do not want to be deceived, or addicted to anything. Hope this helps you grow in your knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to make wise choices. May God bless.
OpenAI recently released ChatGPT “Pulse.” In OpenAI’s words, this system “is a new experience where ChatGPT proactively does research to deliver personalized updates based on your chats, feedback, and connected apps like your calendar.” This means they will be tracking your normal activities and communications and will even be able to do things for you that you grant them access to be able to do. AI (and its owners) will know and keep up with the “Pulse” of your habits. Many folks do not even know when they are talking to or receiving info from AI or from another person. See this wikipedia article on how you can know by subtle differences that are lessening every day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Signs_of_AI_writing
